View the palace from four selected angles, which will allow you to fully enjoy the beauties of the palace.
Have a walking tour in the afternoon. Visit Jokhang Temple and explore Barkhor Street including its local market, admire traditional Tibetan architecture, and take afternoon tea in peaceful Ani Tsangkhung Nunnery, all the while getting to know the history of Lhasa and its people's daily life.
In the evening, learn to make a Tibetan dinner with a local chef's guidance in Tibetan Family Kitchen restaurant.
Day 3: Lhasa | The Essence of Tibetan Buddhism
Option 1:
Enjoy a visit to Drepung Monastery, which is the biggest monastery devoted to Tibetan Buddhism. Learn about the biggest school of Tibetan Buddhism: the Gelug School.
In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, comprising a great sutra-chanting hall, a college and 32 dormitories. Watch a monks'debate and enjoy their special "debating dance". Don't miss the colorful thangka-style murals on the rocks on the hill behind and the great panoramic view of Lhasa city from the monastery.
Option 2:
If your interest in Tibetan people's lives is more than lamaseries, and if you come between May and early October, you can choose to have a pasture day tour near Lhasa city. Hike from a nomads'village where Tibetans winter to their summer pasture. Try some rustic Tibetan food for lunch in a Tibetan nomad's tent. Experience horse riding, milking yaks, making butter, and printing prayer flags.
Day 4: Lhasa Departure
We will ensure your tour is finished off smoothly with an escorted Lhasa airport transfer.
